IT’S HERE!

After much ado (like the most ado), I am very proud (and relieved) to finally present Woven Upholstery Mending, an online tutorial that encapsulates my love for fiber, home decor, and our invaluable planet.

Watch below, and scroll down for more info on materials, supplies, and how to donate to this work.

PLEASE DONATE!

Because I want this workshop to be accessible to everyone, I am offering it on a donation basis. It’s free to watch, but if you are financially stable, I encourage you to donate any amount that feels appropriate. I believe this is such an important project and your support will help me to share it with the world!

SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS

  • Yarn - I’m using materials from Niroma Studio for the tutorial, specifically their 3-ply Recycled Cotton Rope and the Cotton Frizz Recycled Ribbon in the tutorial. You’ll need around 8oz of yarn for every square foot of mended area. If you buy from Niroma, you can use code WOVENMEND15 for 15% off!!

  • Tools - I am selling a mending toolkit*, which has all the tools you’ll need for the project! Tap below to see what’s included.

*I’ll be out of town until August 5th - kit will ship when I return.

ABOUT THE TUTORIAL

Repairing things - rather than replacing them - is something very dear to my heart. In collaboration with Ta-Daan, I’m proud to present an online tutorial based on this viral project.

Make a beautiful, intentional repair to damaged upholstery! Whether you have pets or kids, like to drink wine on the couch, or love to rescue vintage pieces, this workshop will teach you how to use simple weaving skills to create a durable, visible mend that will extend the life of your furniture - and bring more soul into your space. This is the furniture mending tutorial of its kind, and it’s full of helpful tips and shortcuts as well as thoughts on sustainability and the importance of creativity in everyday life.
